Last month I had the opportunity to take a Tuesday off from work to check one more mountain off my bucket list.
Five more WAC’ers joined the climbing party, so we had three efficient teams going up a particularly busy mountain for a Tuesday.
The Snow Lake trail seems shorter every time I go – it must help that it was my fourth time this year.
Two things stand out from the adventure: the heavy smoke in the air from the forest fires and the annoying boulders that line the route to pineapple pass.
Back in May the snow made the journey a lot more pleasant and faster.
This was my first multi-pitch climb ever, and I wanted it to be the Tooth, since I should have done it as part of the class last year.
The first three pitches were awesome and easy, but the exposure on the cat walk to get to the top made me breathe hard.
We must have spent 40 minutes at the top, eating snacks and surrounded by hundreds of flies that had no business being there.
All in all a happy climb.
